Keon Coleman
No. 0 · 3rd season
A foot injury in the preseason opener, and the momentum stops.
Keon Coleman was supposed to be building on something. A young receiver with real upside, he was in the middle of proving what he could do in live action—the preseason opener, the first real test of the offseason work. Then came the diagnosis: a sprained foot or toe, enough to sideline him and enough to sting in a way that roster notes usually don't.
Footwork matters in football. For a receiver, it matters more. Balance, separation, the ability to cut and plant and explode out of a break—all of it lives in the feet. A foot sprain in August is not just an absence; it is a lost conversation with the coaching staff, a reset on the clock for building chemistry, a question mark on how much of the preseason he will see.
Coleman was seen walking, which is good. But the timeline is unclear, and preseason is short. The next few days will tell whether this is a blip or something that eats into his fall.
