Quarterback · Denver Broncos
Bo Nix
No. 10 · 3rd season
Bo Nix had the ankle cleaned up. Now he just has to show up.
There is a version of this offseason where the Broncos' second-year quarterback spent the whole summer in question marks. That version is not happening.
Nix, who took over as Denver's starter last season as a rookie, went back under the knife this spring — not for anything new, but to clear out bone spurs that had been accumulating in his ankle. The kind of thing that quietly makes every drop-back a little harder than it should be.
He is expected to be full-go by training camp, which opens in late July. No missed time, no slow ramp-up — just a cleaned-out joint and a full run at year two.
For a young quarterback still establishing himself, that matters more than it sounds. The second season is when the league starts forming real opinions. Showing up healthy, and showing up ready, is the first step toward shaping what those opinions become.
The ankle is handled. The rest is on him.
