Quarterback · Las Vegas Raiders
Fernando Mendoza
No. 15
Fernando Mendoza signed. Now the real work starts.
The paperwork is done. Four years, $57.27 million, every dollar guaranteed — the Las Vegas Raiders made it official before training camp even opened, locking in the quarterback they chose with the first pick in the draft.
Mendoza came out of Indiana, where he built his case as the kind of player a franchise trusts with everything. Being the number one pick is its own kind of pressure — there is no soft landing, no depth chart to hide on. The franchise picked him first, and now the contract says it out loud.
Signing before camp matters. It means Mendoza walks through those doors as a Raider, not a holdout, not a negotiation. He gets every rep.
For a team that has been searching at quarterback, this is the bet. For Mendoza, it is the start of something that will take years to pay off — or won't. The money is guaranteed. The rest is not.
