Jalon Walker is feared to have torn his ACL before his rookie year really started
Some careers get interrupted before they find their footing. For Jalon Walker, a young edge rusher the Atlanta Falcons had been watching closely, the fear right now is that a torn ACL has just put everything on pause.
Walker came into this season carrying real promise — the kind of player a team points to when someone asks what's coming. That kind of hope makes the timing hurt more, not less.
The injury has not been confirmed, but the word out of the organization is that tests have come back looking bad. If it holds, Walker is likely done for the year before getting a real chance to show what he can do at this level.
A torn ACL means months of rehab, a season lost, and a question mark hanging over a career that had barely begun. The Falcons lose a player they were counting on. Walker loses something harder to get back: time.
What this means for him next year — and whether he comes back as the same player — is the thing to watch now.
