Offensive Lineman · Atlanta Falcons
Jawaan Taylor
No. 71 · 8th season
Jawaan Taylor came to Atlanta and missed the first day before it started
The Falcons brought in Jawaan Taylor this offseason to help protect their offensive line. He never made it to the first practice of training camp.
Taylor was placed on the physically-unable-to-perform list, which means a player is injured or recovering and cannot participate in on-field sessions. New city, new team, new jersey — and he watched from the sideline before a single snap was taken.
For a player brought in to make an immediate impact up front, missing the opening days of camp matters. Offensive linemen build chemistry with their teammates through repetition, and Taylor is starting from zero on that clock. Every day he's not out there is a day someone else is learning the job.
The question now is how long, and what it means for Atlanta's plans along the line.
