The wait is over, at least for now. Jaycee Horn, the Carolina Panthers' cornerback, has been activated and is back at practice.

Horn has spent time away from the field, and getting back to practice is the first real step toward being out there on Sundays again. For a player whose position demands total trust in a body that has to be ready every snap, even a return to the practice field is something worth noting.

For the Panthers, who have leaned on their secondary to hold things together, having Horn available changes the math. His presence alone shifts what the defense can do and what opposing offenses have to think about.
