Quarterback · Los Angeles Rams

Ty Simpson

No. 15

Last one in the room, first one with everything on the line

Every other first-round pick had their name on a contract. Ty Simpson was still waiting.

Simpson came into the league as the 13th player taken in the 2026 draft — a quarterback the Los Angeles Rams believed in enough to spend a top-15 pick on, which in football terms is about as loud a statement of faith as an organization can make. That kind of selection carries weight before a single snap is thrown.

With training camp about to open, Simpson became the last of the first-round class to sign, putting pen to a four-year deal worth $25.4 million, all of it guaranteed, with a fifth-year option the Rams can exercise down the road. The signing bonus alone — just under $15 million — lands before he has taken a professional rep.

For a quarterback, though, the money is almost beside the point. The real number is 13. That is where the Rams decided Simpson was worth betting on, and now the bet is official. Training camp starts, and so does everything else.
