Mahomes has a date in mind, and he's not moving it

A torn ACL ends most people's plans. Mahomes is making new ones.

For anyone who has watched him over the last several years, Patrick Mahomes has built something unusual in Kansas City — a run defined less by individual brilliance and more by the feeling that the game is never quite over while he's in it. Losing that presence, even temporarily, is not a small thing.

The injury came in December. A torn anterior cruciate ligament — one of the most significant a player can suffer, typically requiring months of careful rehabilitation before a return to full contact.
