Myles Garrett is gone, and Denzel Ward isn't going anywhere
When the Cleveland Browns traded Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams, the question wasn't just about football. It was about what kind of team Cleveland is now — and who still wants to be part of it.
Denzel Ward has been a Brown since the day he was drafted. He came up in Cleveland, built his career there, and became one of the faces of a defense that had Garrett at its center for years. That kind of partnership — a shutdown corner and a dominant pass rusher making each other's jobs easier — takes time to build. It's rare when you find it.
Now Garrett is in Los Angeles, and Ward made clear he's not looking for an exit of his own. He wants to stay in Cleveland.
That's not nothing. After a trade that signals a franchise in transition, a key piece choosing loyalty over uncertainty says something about what Ward believes this team can still be. Whether Cleveland builds around that trust is the part nobody knows yet.
But for now, Ward is still a Brown — by choice.
