Sore knee, limited reps, and a coordinator saying don't worry about it

The words "don't worry about it" from a coaching staff tend to land differently depending on who's hurt and when. Right now it's Dak Prescott, the Dallas Cowboys' quarterback, sitting out of full team drills during offseason practice sessions with a sore knee.

Prescott has been the center of the Cowboys' universe for years — the kind of player whose availability shapes everything a team plans around. A sore knee keeping him out of team reps is not, on its own, cause for alarm. Offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer said exactly that.

But a quarterback limited in spring reps is still a quarterback limited in spring reps. The reps matter. The rhythm matters. And the fact that someone felt the need to say "nothing to be concerned about" means someone, somewhere, was already concerned.
