Kobe Prentice came over from the Carolina Panthers after the New England Patriots put in a waiver claim, adding him to a receiving room that is, by any count, crowded. The Patriots moved on from a tackle to make the roster spot work.

For a player moving between teams at this stage, every new room is an audition. A roster this deep means nothing is handed to anyone — and also that the team is clearly looking for something it hasn't quite found yet.
