Von Miller is one of the most decorated pass rushers of his generation — a player with a Super Bowl MVP on his resume and a reputation that fills a room. He has been here before, the long wait of a free agency that does not resolve on his timetable.

So he posted a photo. Himself, in a Dallas Cowboys jersey, no caption needed. A message to a franchise, or maybe to anyone watching: I'm still here, and I'm not done.

At this point in free agency, unsigned veterans do not have the luxury of patience. Every week without a contract is a week someone younger fills the spot. For a player of Miller's standing, the wait is its own kind of statement.
